There’s no doubt Jay-Z’s relationship with Kanye West has hit the rocks, and it appears the former is still distancing himself from the controversial rapper and fashion designer.
Jay-Z, 55, made a surprise appearance at his wife Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter concert at Stade de France in Paris on Sunday. The power couple serenaded the audience with songs including Crazy in Love as well as Drunk in Love, which was remixed with Partition, Page Six reported.
The Dead Presidents rapper also performed N—-s in Paris, the song from his joint 2011 Watch the Throne album with his former collaborator Kanye West. But Jay-Z during his performance changed a lyric on the song where he makes reference to Kanye.
In the original lyric, Jay-Z raps, “Just might let you meet Ye.” But during his performance of the song on Sunday, the 55-year-old rapped, “Just might let you meet Bey [Beyoncé].
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Kanye, 48, came under scrutiny in March when he took to social media to post negative comments about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s twin children Sir and Rumi Carter.
Kanye in his post on X appeared to cast doubts about Sir and Rumi Carter’s mental capacity. The 48-year-old, who shares four children with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, however, later rendered an apology.
“I LOVE JAY Z AND I DO FEEL BAD,” he wrote before trying to explain why he supposedly fell off with Jay-Z. “HOV [Jay-Z] NOT COMING TO MY FIRST WEDDING HIM PUTTING KENDRICK ON THE SUPERBOWL OVER ME OR EVEN US NEVER BEING INVITED TO SH*T,” he added.
“TAKING JABS ABOUT MY RED HAT ON DONDA I FELT LIKE BOTH HIM AND HIS WIFE COULD HAVE HELPED ME HAVE MORE LEVERAGE WITH MY KIDS,” Kanye said about his child custody issues with Kardashian.
Kanye, however, ended his post with some strong words: “THEY COULD HAVE USED THEIR CULTURAL POSITION TO NOT JUST WATCH THE KARDASHIANS RUN ME OVER. SH*T HURTS SO F*CK BOTH OF THEM CAUSE WHEN I NEEDED THEM IT WAS F*CK ME.”
