Home is truly where the heart is and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian haven’t compromised on that saying with their place of abode, making sure it’s everything they ever dreamed of.
Appearing on the latest issue of Architectural Digest, the celebrity opened the doors to their opulent and very huge Los Angeles mansion.
The house was discovered by the celebrity couple during one of their walks after they had their first child, North. According to Kim, they shared different opinions about the structure upon their first sighting.
“We passed by this incredibly extravagant house while strolling through the neighborhood. I’d just had North, and we were doing a lot of walking so I could work off some of the baby fat,” she said. “I didn’t really know Kanye’s style at that point, but I thought the house was perfection. Kanye was less enthusiastic. He said, ‘It’s workable.’”
Taking four years to eventually renovate and appeal to their taste, their minimalist home features furniture, artwork, décor, and other collectibles from some of the most sought-after designers out there including Axel Vervoordt, Vincent Van Duysen and Isabel Rower.
“The one thing Kanye and I had in common was our preference for a neutral palette. I love the simplicity of the design. Everything in the outside world is so chaotic. I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness,” Kim told Architectural Digest.
She added: “Kanye would come up with the most far-out ideas, and I’d say, ‘This is not normal. We need drawers!’ I was the voice of functionality.”
