The never-ending feud between Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and the main opposition party leader Raila Odinga appears to have finally come to an end.
At the annual National Prayer Breakfast meeting held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on Thursday, May 31, President Kenyatta wholeheartedly apologized to Odinga, who defiantly swore himself in as the ‘people’s president’ after refusing to partake in this year’s presidential elections despite winning a court order for its rerun.
“We have campaigned against one another, we have said nasty things about each other, we have hurt one another.” The President said. “I ask for your forgiveness and I tender my apology”. They then shook hands and hugged it out much to the applause of the audience.
Vice-President William Ruto also followed suit and apologized with a much light-hearted introduction!
