Kim Kardashian recently provided an update on her relationship with her ex-husband Kanye West, and it appears the pair are currently on good terms.
Kardashian, 45, and Kanye, 48, became romantically involved in 2012 before they tied the knot in 2014. Kardashian ultimately filed for divorce 2021. The former couple share two daughters and two sons.
And though Kardashian and Kanye had a falling out during their marriage and after their divorce, it appears all is currently well between the former couple.
Kardashian provided the update on her relationship with Kanye during an interview with Aria Hughes for her new cover story with Complex.
“We’ll always be family,” the billionaire socialite and businesswoman said when she was asked about hyping a pair of Yeezy boots in a TikTok post. “We both know that. We will be okay, and there’s so much love for our family. We want what’s best for our kids. I couldn’t deny the Yeezy heel, so I had to shout it out.”
Kardashian posted that TikTok video in January. In the video, the 45-year-old shared details of what she was wearing for a photo shoot in Aspen and why she decided to match her style with Yeezy boots.
“Then I put it with these Yeezy boots,” she said in the video. “I will say, there’s nothing like a Yeezy heel. I don’t know if they ever made these or just made them for me. I love when a shoe is tonal to the pant.”
During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast last year, Kardashian touched on the dark periods of her marriage to Kanye and their divorce, Face2Face Africa reported at the time.
She stated that Kanye’s mental health struggles during their marriage and his supposed unwillingness to get help caused their separation.
“There was just a lot of things that I wouldn’t deal with,” Kardashian revealed at the time, per E! News. “I didn’t like the feeling of someone talking bad about my kids’ grandmother, aunts—all of those feelings. If someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together.”

Kardashian, on the podcast, touched on one of Kanye’s mental health episodes, saying that he once gave away their five Lamborghini vehicles to his friends.
“I’d come home and they’d all be gone,” she disclosed. “Then I’d come home again and at a different point, we’d have five more Lamborghinis and then I’d wake up in another episode and they’d all be gone again.”
“I didn’t know what you’re going to get when you wake up and that’s a really unsettling feeling,” she continued before saying that the “lack of stability was a big thing.”
Kardashian also stated that Kanye’s actions during those periods made her feel unsafe. “Not even physically, just like maybe emotionally or even, you know, financially,” she said.
The 45-year-old said that the rapper and fashion designer’s mental health struggles during their marriage ultimately took a toll on her.
“You want to be super supportive and you want to help figure that out,” Kardashian said, per E! News. “But when someone isn’t willing to make changes that would be super healthy and beneficial, it makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic.”
Kardashian also made mention of their kids, stating that when the young ones come into the picture when there are issues of such nature, it’s “definitely harder to leave than it is to stay.” “It changes everyone’s life forever. You really have to take your time and wait and see if there’ll be changes,” she continued.
She, however, emphasized that “once you get to a place where you feel like it’s not going to change or get better, then you have to make some serious choices on what you’re going to do.” She added: “That’s a really hard reality to face.”
Despite being put in that position, Kardashian said her children were the driving force behind her decision to part ways with their father.
“I had to save myself in order to be a better mom for everyone,” she said. “I think when everyone’s older, they’ll be able to understand it and see that all.”
