Although summer doesn’t officially start until June 21 in the United States, for many of us, summer starts on Memorial Day, May 26th. Unless you live on the North Pole, then you are likely embarking on warmer weather – and this doesn’t mean you can’t have a flawless face.
Below, you will see what are some of the products I have used on myself and my clients during the warmer months.
1. Waterproof…Mascaras, Eye Shadows and Eyeliners. You’ll find waterproof products to be your best friend. Make Up Forever (pictured above) has a great line of waterproof eyeliners. Whenever I have clients that are doing underwater projects, this is my go-to product.
2. Lip treatments. I always use a lip conditioner before I apply any other lip products. Julep’s Luxe Lip Treatment (pictured left) is great; it contains palladium that is cool to the touch when applied.
3. Liquid lipsticks. These are long lasting and eliminate the chances of it being smeared.
4. Tinted moisturizer. They are sheer, blend easily, and will even out your skin tone. As a bonus, look for a version that has light-reflecting pigments to boost your glow. (TIP: Mix your foundation with an equal part of face lotion to create your own tinted moisturizer.)
5. Bronzer. There’s nothing like having a product that will illuminate your highlighting areas (don’t worry, we’ll have time to go over which areas you should high light) and be “splash-free” at the same time.
In addition to these five tips, I urge you to drink lots of water. It offers many benefits: not only is it good for your body organs, but it also keeps your lips soft along with keeping your skin supple and acne free.
