Authorities in Michigan have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the killings of a woman and her juvenile son on Labor Day.
Per Click on Detroit, the bodies of the victims, identified as Linda Hill, 41, and her son Kardi Jackson, 12, were found in their Hazel Park home on September 1.
Sources said the victims succumbed to neck injuries, and authorities in a statement also announced that they were investigating the incident as a homicide.
The suspect linked to the double homicide was ultimately arrested at a Pontiac home on September 2 after police obtained a search warrant for the address. Authorities also said that during the search of the residence in question, evidence in connection with the killings was retrieved by detectives.

A GoFundMe has since been set up to help raise funds for Hill and Jackson’s funeral expenses. “On September 1st, my sister Linda and my nephew Kardi were brutally murdered in their home. This unimaginable tragedy has left our family in shock and profound grief. Linda was loved by everyone who knew her; she would have given the shirt off her back to help others,” the fundraiser states.
“Kardi was the sweetest child, never bothered anyone, always enjoying his video games and spending time with family. Their loss is a devastating blow to all who knew them.”
The fundraiser adds: “Linda and Kardi did not have life insurance, and we are now faced with the financial burden of laying them to rest. We are humbly asking for help from friends, family, and the public to contribute what you can to help cover funeral and memorial expenses. Any amount will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.”
