A California man named Calese Carron Crowder was arrested after reportedly being captured on camera sniffing a woman’s buttocks at a department store. The 38-year-old was arrested on July 22, according to Burbank police, after they were called to a report of a “suspicious individual loitering in the women’s department” at Nordstrom Rack.
Crowder had already fled the department store when authorities arrived. Officers eventually located him at a neighboring Walmart in the Empire Center retail mall on Victory Place.
“Using the store’s surveillance system, officers monitored the suspect as he moved through various departments,” according to a July 24 Burbank Police Department press release. “While in the women’s section, the suspect was observed following a female customer, crouching near her, and engaging in lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks.”
Given the nature of his behavior, officers contacted the suspect and held him for additional investigation, according to the statement.
Crowder was charged with one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office. He is still being held on $100,000 bail. His next court date is set for August 1, 2025.
According to authorities, Crowder has “a documented history of similar arrests for lewd conduct in both Glendale and Burbank, dating back to 2021” and is a registered sex offender.
KTLA reports that he gained national headlines in August 2023 when he pulled the same act on a woman at a Barnes & Noble in Burbank, which was captured on video and ended up becoming a popular TikTok post. He was also identified as a suspect in several prowling offenses and arrested the same month on suspicion of peeping into a family’s occupied house in Glendale.

Dozens of women came forward to share their personal encounters with the same suspect, according to Michaela Witter, the person who uploaded the first viral TikTok video.
Additionally, Crowder was accused by the wife of former Los Angeles Lakers forward Robert Horry of stalking their teenage daughter over ten years ago. “He needs to be put away for good,” Candice Horry wrote on social media.
Crowder also has a long criminal history, with convictions for burglary, robbery, and indecent exposure. He was also accused of several prowling crimes in Glendale.
