It appears Chris Brown has put one of his legal woes to bed, as an individual has dismissed a lawsuit alleging that the singer assaulted him at a nightclub in the United Kingdom.
Per TMZ, Abe Diaw filed the lawsuit against the Heat singer in 2023. But Diaw’s decision to dismiss the lawsuit after filing those papers in Los Angeles County implies that he and Brown have reached a settlement.
Diaw cannot also refile the lawsuit as he asked the judge to dismiss it with prejudice. And though this usually indicates that the parties have agreed to a settlement, it could not be established if money was involved in Brown and Diaw’s case.

The alleged assault is said to have happened at the TAPE nightclub in London. Diaw in the lawsuit claimed that Brown, 36, repeatedly hit him with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle. He said the alleged attack left him unconscious. But while on the ground, he claimed that Brown did not stop the assault as the singer “ruthlessly” stomped on him. Diaw claimed that he suffered injuries from the incident.
Despite Diaw’s decision to dismiss the lawsuit, Brown’s criminal case in connection with the alleged incident is still ongoing. In May, Brown was arrested and charged with assault and possession of a weapon after he entered the United Kingdom ahead of his concert in the country.
He was later released on a $6.7 million bail, and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
