Hey, Guys! Memorial Day Weekend is a celebration in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces, and this weekend it is being celebrated. I appreciate the men and women, who died while serving.

This weekend is also an indicator that spring is in full effect and summer is fast approaching!  I shared with you last week that the weather has finally warmed up in New York City – I lied!  Our weather has been so back-and-forth and unpredictable. Still, in addition to pulling out the grills, I’m excited to partner with Glo Minerals and offer you a GIVEAWAY!…Be sure to read to the end for a chance to enter.

I received a few beauty notes from you asking what are some of my lip choices for spring.  I had to think about it.  Have I really bought in to the idea that spring is here and that I should be using bright colors that POP!  The answer is no! I have to admit, despite the season, the temperature outside tends to dictate my lip mood.

Do you also feel bad for wearing orange Sunkist lipstick when it’s pouring rain outside?

Well, my good friends at Glo Minerals know the trick on how to snap me in to lip mode!  I recently received a box of goodies with an array of lip colors.  Each color made me smile bigger than the Kool Aid guy (don’t judge me).

Glo Minerals didn’t disappoint me with the two products that they sent me (Suede Matte Crayon & Suede Matte Stick).  Even though the products were different, both products offered what’s trending right now: matte formulation.

Matte lips are trending on the red carpet, runways, and now with you and I!

For those of you who are asking what is matte lipstick; matte lipsticks have no shine or shimmer. They typically have better staying power than other types of lipsticks, but can be dry.

Which is what I love about Glo Mineral’s matte, because it glides on creamy but offers a matte finish.

Both the Suede Matte Crayon and the Suede Matte Stick come in six shades, which makes it hard to pick just one!  Being a woman of color, I love when I can be versatile on my lips.

Their shades range from nude, orange, and fuchsia to berry and red red, just to name a few.  Whatever your lip preferences are, Glo Minerals has a shade for you.  Both products I received aren’t your typical matte where it’s so dry you feel you’re going to rip your lips.

Both offer a fresh minty smell and a slight cooling affect when applied to the lips.

Here’s a little bit of information on the two products:

Suede Matte Crayon (Color shown in sorbet)

Their Crayon-inspired pencil with built-in sharpener delivers precision and convenience in one.  It offers antioxidant protection and conditioning ingredients that include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Mango Seed Oil, and Shea Butter. It truly is matte redefined!

Suede Matte Stick (Color shown in pinup)

Their new slender stick offers a cream application that lasts for hours. It offers antioxidant protection and conditioning ingredients that also include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Mango Seed Oil, and Shea Butter.

Check out my video where I color swatch and show you my seven spring flings!  Be sure to read the description box in the video for the Giveaway entry rules.  Two lucky winners will win a trio collection of Glo Minerals Lips:
