Running along a cut on the edge of an arid plateau in Adrar, Mauritania, the Terjit Oasis is one of the most-frequented tourist sites in the country. It stretches a few hundred meters alongside a stream that originates from a rock. Tourists love the oasis for its charm and fresh water. Locals have traditionally used it for religious ceremonies, especially weddings and the coronation of African princes.
