The Caribbean has produced many accomplished individuals who have contributed positively to the world over the years. Since 2005, the Anthony S Sabga Caribbean Awards for Excellence has been awarding Caribbean excellence in the areas of arts and letters, entrepreneurship, science and technology, and public and civic contributions.

It was initiated by the late Trinidadian entrepreneur, Dr Anthony N Sabga. The 2018 edition was held in Jamaica and five Caribbean natives were awarded half a million Trinidad & Tobago Dollar dollars (TT), a medal and a citation.

The winners were nominated by country committees and selected by regional representatives from all the territories covered: Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, the OECS and Trinidad & Tobago.

Here are the Caribbean’s most accomplished individuals of 2018.
