A new court filing states that Paris Jackson has received $65 million in benefits from the estate of her late father, Michael Jackson.
The figure was disclosed in an October 9 court filing by the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate in response to Paris’ court documents in June, where she expressed concern over “irregular payments” being made by her father’s estate.
In the new filing in response to those claims, seen by People, the estate executors denied mismanagement claims.
“Few have benefited more from the Executors’ business judgment than Petitioner herself, who has received roughly $65 million from the Estate in benefits,” the filing alleges. “She would have never received that had the Executors followed a typical playbook for an estate like this one in July 2009.”
The executors also praised themselves for their role in making Jackson’s estate profitable.
“The Executors’ business judgment has taken an estate that ‘started out as nothing but debt and substantial ongoing obligations’ and ‘turned [it] into a $2 billion estate’ — an estate that is now ‘a powerhouse and a force in the music business today,’” the filing states, per the outlet.
In Paris’s June filing, she mentioned the executors’ requested approval for $625,000 in payments to three law firms back in 2018.
“These payments appear, at least in part, to consist of lavish gratuities bestowed upon already well-compensated counsel,” the court docs allege in part.
Following Jackson’s death, his three children (sons Prince and Bigi and daughter Paris) were named as estate’s beneficiaries. However, things have not gone down well with Paris and the estate’s executors in recent times.
