Former President Barack Obama marked his 63rd birthday on Sunday, August 4, 2024. To celebrate, his wife, Michelle Obama, shared a heartfelt tribute.
Michelle posted a previously unseen photo on Instagram of herself and the former president hiking. In the photo, they appear to be pushing a huge boulder uphill.
Michelle wore a black tank top, black leggings, and sneakers, while Barack was dressed in a white shirt, black bottoms, and Nike sneakers. The couple also sported matching baseball caps.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, @BarackObama!” the former first lady wrote on Instagram. “Here’s to weathering all of life’s storms and moving mountains together. ❤️”s.
Michelle’s Instagram post received a lot of reactions. Many of her followers wished Barack a happy birthday, while others interpreted the photo.
“Literally feels like that’s what you guys did,” commented a follower, @tvmarianne.
“You guys certainly have done that,” wrote another follower, @theheliotropefoundation, accompanied by love emojis. “Love you guys, thanks for all you do!”
Admiring the couple’s love story, louisegoffinnmusic said, “The greatest love story… We love you, President Obama.”
Although most comments were filled with admiration for Michelle and Barack, one follower saw it as an opportunity to ask a pointed question.
“After you’re finished with that rock, could you and Kamala Harris kindly move Donald Trump out of our view? #vote #votelikeoumatterbecauseyoudo,” commented an Instagram user named georgiaerck.
Barack and Michelle have been married for over 30 years, tying the knot in 1992. The couple has two daughters, Malia, 25, and Sasha, 23.
On special occasions, the Obamas are known for posting touching tributes to each other and their daughters, such as birthdays and milestones.
For their 31st wedding anniversary last October, they shared sentimental social media posts dedicated to each other. Michelle posted a photo of the two backlit by the sunset with the caption:
“31 years, and a lifetime to go. I love going through life with you by my side, @BarackObama. Happy anniversary, honey! ❤️”
For his part, Barack Obama posted a lovely photo of them in an open field and dressed in matching dark blue jackets. His Instagram post was captioned, “Happy anniversary, sweetheart! @MichelleObama, you’re brilliant, kind, funny, and beautiful—and I’m lucky to call you mine.”
Despite their lovey-dovey moments, the early years of their marriage were not as almost perfect as we see today. They also had challenges – but that did not separate them.
