Congolese designer Kahindo Mateene has released her Modahnik Spring/Summer 2014 collection and she has not disappointed. Each design is feminine with the perfect balance of color and prints. This collection embodies the beauty of spring and sophistication of bold women.
Kahindo’s collections are greatly influenced by her Congolese heritage and culture which adds such a distinct touch. With the release of latest her collection she has teamed up with non-profit MamAfrica to create clutches and tablet cases from Modahnik fabric scraps sewn by Congolese women. The organization’s mission is to provide “healing arts programs, education and economic opportunity for my countrywomen” in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo.
