Get rid of phantom loads
A phantom load, which is also known as standby power is the electricity consumed by an electronic device while it is turned off or in standby mode. The worrying thing is many electronics like televisions, computers, DVD players, among others draw some amount of power even when they are switched off. To get rid of this, plug all related items into smart power strips, and shut them off with one switch. Alternatively, turn off the strips between uses.
