The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said NFL legend and Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was struck by a car following an argument with a man during a pick-up basketball game at a court in San Fernando Valley.
According to NBC Los Angeles, authorities said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday, adding that Owens did not suffer any injuries after he was hit by the vehicle. Full information with regard to the vehicle that hit the 49-year-old was not disclosed at the time the incident was reported.
TMZ also reported that the individual driving the car was the same man involved in the argument with Owens. The former NFL star was reportedly struck in the knee. He, however, did not need medical care.
And though no arrests were made in connection with the incident, a report for assault with a deadly weapon was filed with the police.
Owens had a very stellar career in the NFL and is ranked among the best wide receivers in the league’s history. The 49-year-old had stints with teams including the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.
