Miracles do happen, and 22-year old Mamoudou Gassama is a testament of it. Just a few days ago, the then undocumented Malian immigrant made a name for himself after bravely climbing to the fourth floor of a building in Paris without any protection to rescue a four-year-old boy clinging on to his life.

His heroic and selfless act earned him a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace where he confirmed he would be granted French citizenship. He was also awarded a medal of courage and a certificate and offered a job in the fire service.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, the French fire department shared photos Gassama’s first visit to Champerret barracks after securing the job. Take a look at the photos below:
