Janice Turner, the mother of musician Sean Kingston, was placed under arrest after a police raid of the singer’s Miami residence.

Turner was detained on accusations of fraud and theft by Broward County Sheriff’s deputies and Davie Police SWAT members after they broke into the house. The complaint was allegedly filed by attorney Dennis Card, who claimed that the Beautiful Girls singer didn’t pay for the things he bought.

“He’s got basically a script, he says that he works with Justin Bieber, and that he obviously puts on a big show here, this is a rental house, he doesn’t own it, and he lures people using his celebrity into having them release things without him paying for it and then he simply never pays,” Card said.

It’s unknown whether Kingston was home when the raid happened.

Turner, on the other hand, admitted guilt to one count of bank fraud and four counts of submitting fraudulent loan applications back in January 2006. After that, she received a sentence of five years of supervised release and sixteen months in jail.

Kingston has maintained a low profile in recent years, putting out a few songs, such as Side from 2022, Queen of Daytona Beach from 2022, and Ocean Drive, a joint effort with Chris Brown. In 2023, he most recently released the song How We Chop. The album 2022 was his final release, Road to Deliverance.
