Kwame Nkrumah and Fathia Nkrumah
Before 1957, Kwame Nkrumah had fast established himself as the people’s man in the country that he would lead to independence. This displeased the British colonizers.
Nkrumah was an ideologue who believed in the authentic community and capacity of the African. His marriage to the Egyptian Fathia can be seen in that light.
The marriage had the blessing of Gamel Abdel Nasser, the Egyptian leader at the time and Nkrumah’s friend.
