Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has requested a February trial for the final five defendants originally indicted alongside Atlanta rapper Young Thug.
A plea hearing for the remaining defendants is scheduled for December 17, and Willis filed a motion on Friday proposing the trial start on February 24. She anticipates the proceedings could take up to three months.
In May 2022, a grand jury indicted 28 individuals, including Young Thug, on racketeering charges, alleging he co-founded a violent street gang responsible for murders, shootings, and carjackings over a decade. The indictment also accused the group of promoting its criminal activities through songs and social media.
Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, stood trial in November 2023 along with five co-defendants after a nearly year-long jury selection process. In October, the rapper and three others pleaded guilty, resulting in his release on probation under strict conditions, including a decade-long ban from the Atlanta area.

Earlier this week, a jury acquitted the remaining two defendants in the trial of racketeering, murder, and gang-related charges but convicted one on a gun charge.
Of the original 28 defendants, nine, including fellow rapper Gunna, accepted plea deals before the trial, and charges were dropped against one defendant due to a separate murder conviction.
Recent developments have reduced the number of active cases. Prosecutors dropped charges against six defendants earlier this week and secured a guilty plea from another. The trial for the final five defendants represents the concluding chapter in the high-profile racketeering case.
