A$AP Rocky has revealed how fatherhood has reshaped his approach to fashion, describing a shift toward more refined and classic outfits.
Speaking to People at the 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards, where he and Puma won Collaboration of the Year, the 36-year-old rapper reflected on his evolving style.
“If I could define my dad style, I’d say it’s way more focused,” he shared. Rocky, who shares two sons, RZA (2) and Riot (1), with Rihanna, explained that becoming a parent has steered his wardrobe away from experimental, mismatched ensembles toward what he calls “quiet luxury.”

“Before, it was all about absurd outfits, just mixing and matching for the fun of it,” he said. “Now, it’s a bit more toned down and intentional.”

When asked about his sons’ style, Rocky was quick to credit Rihanna. “That’s all their mom,” he said. “Sometimes she dresses them like me—with kilts and all of that—but she’s got great taste. I don’t really contribute to their outfits.”
Parenthood has brought broader changes to Rocky’s life beyond fashion. In an October interview with W Magazine, he admitted fatherhood has transformed his priorities. “That s— changed my swag. I’m such a dad now—it’s hilarious,” he said. Reflecting on his packed schedule, he added, “I haven’t been to the gym in weeks. I come home, my kids are asleep. I leave, they’re still asleep. But the sacrifices we make to create something meaningful are worth it.”
Rocky isn’t the only one adjusting his wardrobe for parenthood. At the Savage X Fenty Lavish Lace Collection Preview in Los Angeles on October 10, Rihanna shared her own approach to balancing motherhood and fashion.
“For me, it’s all about function,” she told People. “Anything cozy, stretchy, and easy to move in. I need things that let me bend down to pick up my kids, and nothing that scratches me—or them. Moms have busy days, and comfort is everything.”
