Rihanna flies back home to Barbados to watch Buju Banton perform [Watch]

Grammy award-winning reggae-dancehall legend Buju Banton has been on a great roll with his Long Walk To Freedom Tour across the Caribbean since his release from prison.

As part of the Barbados Reggae Festival, Banton, on Saturday, performed before a sold-out crowd at the Kensington Oval in Barbados in what was a very memorable and historic night. The star-studded event, which was attended by Rihanna and Prime Minister Mia Mottley lived up to expectations with the great Gargamel putting up a stellar performance, as usual.

Though Rihanna did not hit the stage, Banton had enough firepower to entertain the crowd with the likes of Wayne Wonder, Buggy Nhakente, Agent Sasco and Spragga Benz all coming out to support him.

The tour, which kicked-off in his home country of Jamaica in March has also seen him perform in the Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago.

Born Mark Anthony Myrie, Banton was released from prison in the United States on December 7 last year after serving seven years out of a ten-year sentence on cocaine trafficking charges. Despite his long absence in the industry, Banton, who is known for highlighting socio-political issues as well as religion and spirituality in his music enjoys a loyal following and the ongoing tour is a testament to that.

Take a look at some photos and videos of the star-studded concert below:
