Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian has reacted to her viral appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl 2025 halftime show on Sunday.
The 41-year-old Reddit co-founder was positive about the performance and publicly stood behind his wife in an X post.
‘Pretty fantastic halftime show,’ Ohanian wrote after he posted photos of the field from his seat in a VIP box. “some of y’all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago and it shows…. This is bigger than the music.”
Williams became one of the major talking points of Lamar’s performance after she took to the stage as a featured dancer in his hit song ‘Not Like Us.’
Lamar’s song takes shots at his rival Drake, who was previously in a relationship with the tennis legend in 2011.
It appears Drake was not in the best of moods before the Super Bowl performance as he delivered a rant about his exes on-stage in Melbourne, Australia, right before the halftime show started.
Meanwhile, Serena was in high spirits after her performance at the Super Bowl, writing on X: ‘Let’s go Super Bowl halftime. I died a little!’
Alexis has come out to rally behind his wife despite some criticism from fans and Stephen Anthony Smith in particular, who stated that he would divorce her if he were her husband.
Williams’ dance pulled controversy on social media, but the noise about her taking a jab at her ex seems to be having little or no impact on her marriage and family.
Alexis began to burst onto the scene with Serena Williams after their first meeting in May 2015 before eventually becoming her husband some years later.

It was weeks before she and Drake had ended their relationship, which went on from around 2011 to 2015.
Later that year in August 2015, Williams was reportedly seen kissing Drake, leaving rumors of their split up in the air.
In the final months of 2015, Alexis began to get closer to Serena on social media, and the two kept their relationship away from the public until they got engaged on December 29, 2016.
Nine months later in September 2017, Serena Williams welcomed their first child, six-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., and tied the knot with her husband on November 16 that year.
