Some bizarre African laws you did not know existed

When the Kenya Film Classification Board slapped bloggers and filmmakers with exorbitant license fees, it was discovered that the Board had used an archaic law to make such a judgement. Currently, Kenyans are calling for the revamp of the law, which was assented to in 1962, a year before Kenya gained independence.

The scenario has brought to the fore the question of bizarre rules in Africa that were either instituted during colonisation or immediately after independence.  Such laws have not only been used to restrict the freedoms of the continent’s inhabitants but also mete out severe punishments.

Here are some bizarre laws that existed or still exist today in Africa.
