Five years ago, most of us heard about Oprah Winfrey’s new venture in South Africa, where she built an elite all girls school for South Africa’s academically inclined but economically disadvantaged girls.

Today marks the first graduation for the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, where 72 of the 75 students who started the academy will graduate. 100 Percent of the graduates are all attending prestigious colleges in South Africa and the Unites States, to study Law, Engineering, Medicine, and more. More than a dozen students have also received full scholarships.
