Is Ugandan’s president Yoweri Museveni hoping to ban oral sex in its entirety?
This is the question on the minds of many following the president’s condemnation of the practice, saying that it was wrong and not what the mouth is supposed to be used for.
He believed that the practice was introduced into the country by “outsiders.”
“Let me take this opportunity to warn our people publicly about the wrong practices indulged in and promoted by some of the outsiders.
“One of them is what they call oral sex.
“The mouth is for eating, not for sex.”
“We know the address of sex; we know where sex is,” Museveni said in a video that has been widely shared on various social media platforms.
Under Museveni’s rule, the police have often targeted the LGBT community, particularly after the Anti-Homosexuality Act was passed in 2013.
The law said offenders should be sentenced to 14 years in prison.
It is also a criminal offence not to report someone for being gay, according to the law that was criticized by many.
