Ebele Ifedigbo
The 29-year-old was recognized for co-founding the Hood Incubator, which helps transition underground cannabis sellers to legal markets. It was founded in Oakland in response to moves to legalise cannabis across the country. The company believes that this is the time to mobilize low-income people and people of colour, who have extremely been impacted by the war on drugs, to enable them to receive the maximum positive economic benefits of shifting drug policies. Ifedigbo spearheads the organization’s business development and fundraising efforts. The Yale M.B.A. graduate is committed to using business to foster innovation and racial equity in cannabis. In June 2017, Ebele was awarded the highly-competitiveEchoing Green global social entrepreneurship fellowship on behalf of The Hood Incubator. In October 2017, Ebele was honoured by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of 2017’s Most Daring Entrepreneurs, along with Jeff Bezos, Issa Rae, Elon Musk, and other global innovators.
