Ikhlas Khan
Khan is another African of Ethiopian descent who was the Prime Minister of Deccan sultanate in the 16th century. Before he became a ruler, he was tasked with the killing of Khawas Khan for sleeping with Sultan Muhammad Adil Shah’s queen.
For this work, he was elevated to the prime minister of Bajipur by the Sultan. There are a number of art pieces showcasing him during his duties, including the most popular one that features him with the Sultan on an elephant.
