These confederate statues have been removed in the U.S. after protests

Jefferson Davis, San Diego, California

A plaque honouring Jefferson Davis was removed in San Diego 71 years after its first removal. It was first removed in 1926 after a group of Union Army Civil War veterans protested honouring the Confederate president.  In 2017, a petition and social media activity saw the removal of the plaque again.

Another Confederate monument in Hollywood Forever Cemetery was also pulled down after hundreds of activists called for its removal.
