Medicine men and women in Africa make several claims of having superpowers and healing many health ailments.

From impotency, gaining success and luck to more complex issues such as cancer, challenges with pregnancy and spiritual conundrums, medicine men or women, traditional priests, shamans, healers, malams or whatever title used in the given scenario offer a wide range of options to quell whatever ails.

It is especially important to consider this notion in the motherland because some choose to use traditional avenues of medicine when western health measures are too expensive, unavailable or unreliable.

Many African men and women all around the globe are considering the use of traditional medicine or voodoo as they may believe that organized religions, such as Christianity and Islam are more problematic and dogmatic rather than helpful.
