Botswana carried out an execution in 2018, two years after their last execution.  The South African country hanged a 28-year old man who killed his girlfriend and baby in 2010.  The country’s penal code specifies that people sent to death be hanged.

The country has been enforcing the capital punishment law since 1966 on crimes such as murder, treason, espionage and military offences.
