Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill is being investigated by the NFL over recent domestic violence allegations that were brought against him by his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro.

Vaccaro filed for divorce from Hill, 31, in April after 17 months of marriage. Vaccaro, in court documents, claimed that the wide receiver physically assaulted her on multiple occassions when they were married, TMZ Sports reported.

The NFL is said to have launched an investigation into the allegations this week. A league spokesperson also told USA TODAY Sports that “it’s standard policy for the league to review a matter such as this.”

In the court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Vaccaro accused Hill of roughing her up on eight occasions when they were married, with the first one happening at their Florida home in January 2024. She claimed that the first case stemmed from a dispute over a postnuptial agreement, and Hill pushed her to the ground and yanked off her necklace during the incident.

She claimed that Hill also “violently attacked her” at a hotel in Orlando, Florida, two weeks after the first incident. Vaccaro further accused Hill of spitting on her in another incident.

Vaccaro ultimately filed for divorce from Hill after they got into a domestic dispute at their home in Miami, TMZ Sports reported.

Meanwhile, Hill’s attorney, Julius B. Collins, denied Vaccaro’s allegations in a statement on Monday, saying that they are “nothing more than an attempt by Ms. Vacarro, her mother and/or her counsel to shake Mr. Hill down.”

“The new allegations that Ms. Vacarro and her counsel have decided to allege are all unsubstantiated, untrue and an attempt to generate bad media coverage for Mr. Hill and therefore extort a large settlement offer from Mr. Hill, of which we believe Ms. Vacarro is not entitled in this 17 month marriage,” Collins said.

“The accusations that Mr. Hill has been physically violent, threatening to or abusive in an manner towards Ms. Vacarro are also false. It wasn’t until their greed was rejected by the Honorable Court that the pair had to pivot to this malicious, disgraceful, and scandalous action,” Collins added.

“This is an interesting position that Ms. Vacarro and her counsel has taken considering that Ms. Vacarro continues to try to be alone with Mr. Hill, continues to make sexual advances towards Mr. Hill, and has requested to be alone with Mr. Hill during Mr. Hill’s parenting time with their minor child. Certainly if Ms. Vacarro and her counsel believed their own fabrications against Mr. Hill, Ms. Vacarro and her counsel would not insist upon Ms. Vacarro spending alone time with Mr. Hill.”

Collins also claimed that the new allegations are “further proof that Ms. Vacarro and/or her counsel are set on partaking in a smear campaign in hopes that Mr. Hill will settle and give she and her counsel an unreasonable and unwarranted amount of money.”

The attorney said Hill “will not be moved by this and awaits his day in Court to present his evidence.”

The Dolphins are set to play against the Patriots on Sunday, and it cannot be established if Hill will be available for that match or his team’s other games because of the probe.
