Mt. Elgon National Park
Shared between Uganda and Kenya, Mt. Elgon National Park covers an area of 1,279 square kilometers, with the Ugandan section of the park covering 1,110 square kilometers while the Kenyan portion covers only 169 square kilometers.
The park is part of the extinct shield volcano called “Mount Elgon.” Here, you will find a diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, black-and-white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys. Part of the park is covered by a dense jungle called the “Montane Forest.”
