Watch Aretha Franklin’s touching performance at Martin Luther King’s funeral

The world still mourns the Queen of Soul who passed on Thursday, August 16, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

On several occasions, the singer had to cancel shows and appearances due to health issues, but she was never vocal about it.

Aretha Franklin has managed to grow and live in the hearts of over 5 generations across the globe. A talented and sought after artiste, Aretha performed at the inauguration ceremonies of three US Presidents; Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

The legendary singer also performed during the burial service of Martin Luther King Jnr in 1968. Aretha and MLK were very close and shared similar sentiments on black activism in the fight against racial segregation and inequality.
