It appears Teyana Taylor is not on good terms with Iman Shumpert as the singer, actress, and model wants her ex-husband to be jailed for contempt. Per TMZ Hip Hop, Taylor, 34, is accusing Shumpert, 34, of intentionally leaking their classified divorce documents to the media.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Taylor and Shumpert tied the knot in 2016, and they share two daughters – Rue and Junie. She filed for divorce in January 2023, and they finalized their separation the following year. Following their separation, Taylor initially claimed she and Shumpert remained best friends.
But it appears that is no longer the case as the K.T.S.E. singer in her new legal documents claims that she has drawn the ire of social media because of unsubstantiated reports regarding what she and Shumpert individually retained after their divorce.

Taylor claims that she did not reach any “settlement” with Shumpert as the court awarded them their respective properties. She claims that Shumpert failed to replace a Rolls Royce belonging to her after he totally damaged it, adding that she ended up buying a Maybach afterward.
Taylor also said that she got to keep four properties while the court awarded Shumpert three properties. She said one of the properties awarded to the former New York Knicks star included a Miami condo she initially received as a gift from her ex-husband.

Taylor additionally made mention of the viral Instagram photos she posted on the 2025 Oscar night. She said that it took not more than 24 hours for the photos, which she took with fellow actor Aaron Pierre, to amass 1.4 million views and over 40,000 comments.
But Taylor claims that a “false divorce settlement” story started circulating in the media only a few days later, TMZ Hip Hop reported. The Coming 2 America star claims that she feels the period at which the “false” story made the news was unfavorable as she had just recently chalked up some successes. She said it included the announcement of performances, modeling engagements in Paris, and her second Nike Air Jordan collaboration. She also said that she had featured in 3 movies and a TV show.
She further indicated that she feels the media reports did not come as a coincidence because Shumpert had released his latest rap song at the time. Taylor suggested that her ex-husband, in an attempt to promote his new song, had leaked their divorce issues.
Taylor said Shumpert ultimately came into the spotlight while she made the news on social media for all the wrong reasons, including being subjected to hate speech.
Taylor wants the judge to hand her husband a 20-day jail sentence and also slap him with fines for the alleged contempt of court after leaking their divorce documents. She said the punishment would serve as a lesson for Shumpert.
