Social media went agog last week when a woman set a jeep vehicle on fire and nearly died from the resultant blast. Authorities have identified the woman in the video as Sydney Parham from Fraser, Michigan.

It was believed initially that the 26-year-old caught her boyfriend cheating and decided to set his Jeep ablaze, but Avery Stevenson whose jeep was destroyed stated although he knows the suspect, she was not his girlfriend and “not sure what the motive could be.”

The viral video showed Parham wearing “a black hoodie, grey pants and a face mask” as she poured “lighter fluid into the car before lighting the vehicle on fire.”

Based on description given by witnesses, Parham was charged with arson in connection with the Wednesday Harrison Township vehicle fire.

“The Macomb County prosecutor’s office noted that Parham was hit with a third-degree arson charge, which is a felony. She is being held on a $20,000 personal bond and is set to appear in court on August 5.”

The flames reportedly melted two other cars. The Jeep was only three months old.
