Zendaya had a great year in 2020 in spite of how the year was generally negatively described by many others. This year, 2021, seems promising as well because although we are just five days into the new year, Zendaya has been named “most fashionable woman of 2021” by Harper’s Bazaar and her many fans on Twitter.

The Euphoria star shared her New Year look on Instagram and in less than an hour, the post which had more than 2.5 million likes then, now has nearly 9 million likes. The two photos showed her looking stunning in a classic grey wool suit from Alexandre Vauthier’s Spring/Summer 2020 Couture collection and a satin bustier bow top.

The ensemble worn is as seen on the runway during Paris Fashion Week in January 2020 and since the post went up, many fashionistas like Ebonee Davis, Naomi Campbell, and Storm Reid have been gushing over Zendaya’s look in the comments.

On New Year’s day, Zendaya trended on Twitter as her millions of fans declared she was ‘the most fashionable women of the year.’

Fans also spoke highly of her suit outfits over the years and how the classic grey suit is always a win for them.

Last year, the former Disney star graced quite a number of magazine covers and she made history as the youngest person to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her role as Rue in the hit series Euphoria at the Emmys.

“I know this feels like a really, really weird time to be celebrating,” Zendaya said at the time. “But I just want to say that there is hope in the young people out there. I know that our TV show doesn’t always feel like a great example of that, but there is hope in the young people.

“And I just want to say to all my peers out there doing the work in the streets — I see you. I admire you. I thank you, and yeah, thank you so, so much. This is — whoa. OK. Thank you.”

Then, getting to the end of the year, she was made the face of Valentino. Zendaya is described as “a feminine force full of emotional vibrancy, she interprets the meaning of each creation she wears” on the brand’s site.

Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli  said, “She is a powerful and fierce young woman that uses her talent and her work to express herself, her values and her generation as well.”

The 24-year-old fashion icon and actress has also worked with Lancôme and Bulgari, and designed a whole collection with Tommy Hilfiger.

For the campaign photos, she posed barefooted on a wooden table holding Valentino’s Garavani Roman Stud accessories while donning a flouncy white high-neck dress in one photo, and lace embellished off-the-shoulder dress in another, both from the fashion house’s 2021 Diary Collection, Elle reports.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the face of Valentino,” Zendaya said of the news. “I’m so excited to begin this amazing collaboration with Pierpaolo and the entire Valentino family.”
