Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson seemingly have another talent outside their respective careers, and that is matchmaking.
During an interview with PEOPLE at The One Party by Uber on February 6, the couple touched on their matchmaking endeavors, saying that they get “excited” when they help their friends find love.
“We get excited when we get to help our friends find love, and it brings us joy,” Ciara, 40, said. Wilson, 37, added: “We believe in love, and whenever we can set people up, it’s always the best.”
The couple’s matchmaking track record speaks for itself, as they successfully linked their friends Normani and DK Metcalf. Normani and Metcalf eventually took their relationship a step further in March 2025 when they got engaged. Following their engagement, Ciara took to social media to share a screenshot of a FaceTime call she had with Normani, Metcalf, as well as her husband.
“[Russell] and I knew when we introed yall 3yrs ago .. love was truly in the air! Now yall gon be booed up for forever!!” she captioned. “This was the best news! [DK and Normani], we love yall so much!”
Ciara and Wilson similarly played a role in their friends Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell becoming romantically involved. And just like Normani and Metcalf, Jones and Mitchell also got engaged in July 2025.
“It’s kind of a fun game for us at this point, but it makes us happy when people can experience love,” Ciara told PEOPLE. “So yes, any chance we get, we’re going to do it.”
Ciara and Wilson tied the knot in 2016, and they’re still going strong. The couple share three daughters, while Ciara has a son from her previous relationship with rapper Future.
Speaking about motherhood and how it had transformed her, Ciara told W magazine in 2018, “It’s changed me for the better. It’s made me not sweat the small stuff. I think [being a mom] gives you more compassion in life, and more love in your heart….
“There’s nothing sweeter than putting a smile on your kid’s face; there’s nothing sweeter than putting a smile on another kid’s face.”
