A gas station clerk sustained first-degree burns after a 35-year-old man set the store on fire with a blowtorch following what appeared to be an argument between the two individuals. According to the New York Post, the June 20 incident occurred at the West Seven Mile Road gas station kiosk in Detroit.

In the surveillance footage of the alleged arson, the suspect, identified as Julian Waddell Miller, is seen entering the store and dumping refuse inside before appearing to exchange words with the clerk. He then proceeded to light the trash on fire with a blowtorch before fleeing the scene – which shortly got engulfed in flames with the clerk trapped inside.

According to the Detroit Police Department, the victim sustained first-degree burns and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

However, the accused arsonist, who was later arrested, has since been charged with intent to murder, first-degree arson, as well as other property damage and assault felonies. He was released last Friday on a $100,000 bond.
