Halle Berry took to social media over the weekend to register her displeasure over Drake using a photo of her as a song cover for his latest single “Slime You Out.” The photo in question shows the award-winning actress getting slimmed at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Drake’s recent song, which features R&B singer SZA, is the lead single from his forthcoming For All the Dogs album. The 36-year-old Canadian rapper and SZA initially took to their Instagram accounts on Wednesday to share the cover for the single – though they did not disclose any other details.
But following the release of the single on Friday, Berry shared a post on Instagram appearing to condemn the Certified Lover Boy rapper’s actions. “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy … even if you’re a woman!” the 57-year-old posted.
The Monster’s Ball actress’ post received several comments, including one from a user who asked for her thoughts on Drake using “that picture” of hers for his single. Berry responded saying, the rapper and singer “didn’t get my permission.” “That’s not cool I thought better of him !” the Oscar-winner added.
In a follow-up comment, Berry stated, “hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on !”
Another user who commented on Berry’s post on Saturday stated that the photo in question is owned by Getty Images. “So im sure he got their permission. And paid the fee,” the user added. “why you mad.”
Berry responded, stating, “Cuz he asked me and i said NO that’s why. Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do ! That was the f*uck you to me. Not cool You get it? ❤️”
