Former NBA star Lamar Odom has revealed the reason he reconnected with ex-wife Khloé Kardashian, 11 years after they parted ways.
45-year-old Odom stated on Sunday’s episode of The Kyle & Jackie O Show that the reunion came about due to an encounter with Kardashian’s close friend Malika Haqq.
“I bumped into [Malika] in Las Vegas, I think it was Super Bowl weekend,” Odom said.
“She came to me and said, ‘You know Lamar, I think it’s time for you and Khloé. It’s been years. You haven’t seen her. If you’re up for it, I think I could make it happen.’”
The meeting unfolded at Kardashian’s Hidden Hills, California home, where Lamar Odom arrived with a bouquet of roses, only to be taken by surprised by a camera crew filming for the upcoming sixth season of The Kardashians. “I went there, and there were cameras,” the retired athlete said. “It’s cool, I understand it.”
Asked if he had rekindled his romantic relationship with his ex-wife, Odom clarified the situation and said though he’s interested in being in her life again, they are not officially together. “I wouldn’t say back together. It would be a blessing to be her friend. So much time has passed, and people change.”
Lamar Odom also added that he has changed “for the better.”

It appears Kardashian echoed Odom’s sentiments in the Kardashians Season 6 trailer, saying: “I don’t know this person anymore.”
Her mom, Kris Jenner expressed emotional conflict about the reunion in a confessional and called Odom “the love of Khloé’s life.”
Odom and Kardashian married in 2009 after just one month of dating. Four years later in 2013, Kardashian filed for divorce but paused the process in 2015 to care for Odom after he nearly died from an overdose.

Their divorce was finalized in December 2016, and since their split, Kardashian has had an on-and-off relationship with Tristan Thompson.
It appears Odom was happy to reconnect with his wife again, and his fans are eyeing how it all unfolds for the former couple in the coming months.
