During an interview with Tracy Smith on CBS Sunday Morning, actor Michael B. Jordan touched on how he was impacted by the death of Chadwick Boseman.
Jordan, 38, spoke about Boseman after director Ryan Coogler’s previous comments about how his death impacted the Black Panther family were raised, Complex reported. Coogler said that Boseman’s Death probably hit Jordan the hardest.
“I mean, I don’t know… yeah,” Jordan said about Coogler’s previous comments. “Chad’s a very special person. I just wish I had more time with him. I think that’s the hurtful thing.”
Boseman died on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43 after battling colon cancer. Prior to his death, his medical condition was not publicly known.
Jordan also answered in the affirmative after Smith asked him if he still communicates with Boseman, though that was not possible “in the flesh.”

“Yeah. Yeah, definitely,” Jordan said. “He’s in a place of higher understanding now. He knows my heart. He understands. And I do speak to him.”
The Sinners star further touched on how Boseman’s work ethic still influences him. The 38-year-old revealed that while he was on set for Sinners, he initially had issues with mimicking a Southern accent. But he remembered Boseman maintaining an African accent during the production of Black Panther.
“When Chadwick was playing T’Challa, he never broke,” Jordan said. “Always kept his accent, at home, on set, everywhere. He always had it.”
Jordan also stated that during his struggles on the Sinners set, Coogler tabled an impacful question: What would Chadwick do in this situation?, Complex reported.
“That was it,” Jordan said. “There was nothing else that needed to be said after that. It really helped me lock in.”
