Hotels are built to provide accommodation and food to visitors from all over the world. Others even add elements that set them apart as luxury resorts to attract top-notch tourists who are not shy to spend huge amounts of money to sample these offerings.
Some of these hotels have survived the test of time, but others have fallen apart as a result war or civil strife or nature taking its course or lack of money to run them. Others have suffered mismanagement to the point no one wants to refurbish them to their former glory.
