Succeeding Against the Odds: The Autobiography of a Great American Businessman
This book is an autobiography of John H. Johnson, one of the successful and wealthiest black entrepreneurs in America. The founder of Ebony, Jet, and EM magazines states in his book that at every disadvantage, there is an opportunity.
He writes that disadvantages are “…challenges to be overcome and not facts to be accepted.” Essentially, Johnson, who is also a member of the Forbes 400, stated that the many disadvantages he encountered in life made him into who he is now.
