Come empty-handed
This might be the least hilarious on the list but worth noting nonetheless. Africans are notorious for going to weddings empty handed! Perhaps this is cultural but we’re sure that modern couples don’t appreciate it no matter its origins. But perhaps as long as couples understand the reality that they might not get as much at their weddings, they will budget accordingly when planning for the event.
