Tracks like “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” “Keep Your Head Up” and “Dear Mama” paid homage to the hard-working mothers and the plight of young and unwed mothers. He highlighted their challenges with a non-judgmental tone. His aim was to educate people about some of the problems running rampant in the world at the time.
A big difference from rhetoric like “grab ‘em by the” …you know the rest.
