There’s nothing like discovering a great artist. Their voice, the melodies they use in their music and their style can be enrapturing. What may not be cute is the problems that they keep finding themselves in. It can be distracting and overshadow their talent. Here are some problematic artists we’ve come across.
Azealia Banks
The Harlem, New York native is a singer, songwriter and actress who started her career by releasing her music on MySpace.
From the looks of it, you’d think she was a professional battler. Banks has had feuds with Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Russell Crowe.
6ix9ine
Born Daniel Hernandez, the Brooklyn, NY bred rapper gained some attention last year due to an Instagram post. His eccentric appearance has also garnered him much attention.
In 2015, 6ix9ine or Tekashi as he is sometimes referred to was charged with Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance – a count one felony. In a later interview, he claimed to not have known of the minor’s age.
Most recently, Tekashi has engaged in a public spat with fellow rapper, The Game and boxer Adrien Broner.
R-Kelly
Yes, he may be regarded as a leading pioneer in R&B music. However, during the span of his career, he’s been plagued with accusations of sexual misconduct towards underage girls and women.
Yesterday, Kelly was again accused of grooming a 19-year-old woman to become a “sex slave” and infecting her with an STD, as reported by Vulture.
Bow Wow
Dually talented as a rapper and actor, Bow Wow’s demeanor has taken a turn for the worst as evidenced in recent IG postings.
Born Shad Moss, he started his rap career at 13 and gradually progressed to acting and television hosting.
Some of his shenanigans include denying his ancestry and proclaiming he’s “mixed” when questioned about his choice not to vote in the 2016 presidential elections, posing pictures claiming he owns a jet when he does not and disrespecting women in his frequent rants on the net.
XXXTentacion
Born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy in Plantation, Florida, the 20-year-old shared his music on SoundCloud in 2014. His debut album premiered in 2017 along with a subsequent album on March 16, 2018.
His problematic childhood of engaging in physical altercations and being expelled from school and his church choir has followed him into early adulthood.

He was called “rap’s most controversial man” by Spin and “the most controversial freshman ever” by XXL.
