Iron Ore
As the world continues to develop, demand for steel metal, largely used for construction, continues to grow, making iron ore one of the most treasured natural resources in Africa and the world at large. There are several iron ore deposits in Africa but the largest one is in South Africa, which is estimated to produce at least 38.1 Mt per year. Most African iron ore mines are controlled and operated by their respective states.
