Afropop and Afrobeats musician Asake, also known as MR MONEY, hails from Nigeria. He was raised by Yoruba parents in Lagos, Nigeria, where he was born Ahmed Ololade in the late 1990s. He sings and writes songs. The Department of Theater and Performing Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, awarded him a Bachelor of Arts degree.

He gained notoriety in 2020 when his freestyle performance of “Lady” went viral and received a favorable response from a number of well-known internet influencers, including Broda Shaggi, Sydney Talker, NastyBlaq, and others. He started out as a dancer and worked with numerous dance companies and theatrical companies in high school before he decided to try his hand at music. His entrance into music was wholly accidental.

His debut single of 2020, “Mr. Money,” emphasizes his self-assurance and commitment to his uniqueness as he establishes himself as one of the rapidly emerging musicians in Nigeria. He was nominated in three categories for the 2020 City People Music Awards because of his diligence and effort, and he won two of them, including Most Popular Song of the Year. Asake is undoubtedly the current music industry sensation, and he has no plans to slow down. After the singer released “Mr Money With The Vibe,” a potential hit album, music executives and producers Don Jazzy, Fireboy DML, and music fans praised him for his tenacity, constancy, and excellent musical craft.

Asake had a successful year in 2022, releasing hit after hit, and capping it off with his debut album. Positive reviews of the album have been received in numerous nations since its debut.

Asake is in good form as evidenced by the fact that “Mr. Money With The Vibe” reached number one in 26 countries, including 6 European nations. Another accomplishment for Asake comes from the fact that his most recent album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe,” debuted at number 7 on the Billboard World Album Chart. The album also made its debut on the UK Official Albums Charts at position 25.

Asake uses choral chanting to simultaneously appeal to the boulevard and the street. Although unusual in modern Nigerian pop, the method was not created by Asake. His Fuji strain has received a lot of attention, and the man does seem to have Fuji influences. It is true that the messenger is just as crucial as the message nowhere more than in music. The quality of the musician’s public behavior is just as important to drawing in listeners as the caliber of his music.

Asake is simple to enjoy, especially by the kind of music fans who view a musician’s moral character as being of equal importance to the music itself. His public persona as of now is spotless without controversies. The album enjoyed a respectable run that saw it enter the US Apple Music Top 100, and it debuted at number 7 on the chart on September 17th, 2022.

Asake’s bizarre decision is to set practically every song to an Amapiano background. Asake is aware that in order to appeal to an audience beyond the streets, you must incorporate into your song elements that are well-known to that snooty class of music enthusiasts who are wary of anything from the streets. Asake is unique and is currently the afrobeats man of the moment.
