If you know a thing or two about Nigeria, you may know well that it is a country of flamboyant people, from their cuisines to their parties to their fashion style. Nigerians are no minimalists – they like to go over the top and they very often do.
Nigeria is one of the 10 most successful African countries at the Summer Olympics, and it is granted that Team Nigeria typically brings home at least a medal or two. Many also expected that Team Nigeria would turn their style on at the opening event of the Rio Olympics.
Team Nigeria came prepared to disappoint, however, showing up in drab track suits that their own countrymen have gone on to describe as laughable and offensive.
